My Painting came home!

It is so lovely to see all the layers that everyone has done, and thanks to Nigel( I think it was Nigel) for the added little quote on the left which has really personalised it for me.

Great Collaborative project, so glad I took part!

Hi guys

Unfortunately the filling in of who-has-posted-what-to-who on this swap has been very spotty, and so I can't really tell who's got what - but all 6 paintings *should* now be home.

• As far as I can see, Lorraine and Effie have both posted pictures of their completed paintings.
• Leanie has presumably got hers back too as it was posted some time ago and we have a photo of it in its completed state from Sami
• All three of the finished paintings that I've seen so far look great!  I hope you all had fun with them :)
• Can Nigel, Sami and Jean please let me know in the comments below if you have received your painting home yet - and if so, please post a photo of it as soon as you can, as I'd like to close the swap down and make those animated gifs to show each canvas's progression through the 6 stages....
• If those three AREN'T home yet, could whoever has them or had them last please let me know in the comments, ta!

thank you all for having a go at my painting..I particulary like the metal muse bit and the beads added to the dress..she is very elegant and genteel looking unlike me..lol!

Here is the latest layer I have done in the pass the painting. I added the purple paint to the clock and the letters, the purple and blue stenciling and the blue circles and heart washi tape. I sent this on to Leanie last week, which I hope I was supposed to do as I think it was her canvas originally, so after I sent it I got all confused!!

Pass The Painting....

Mine is home.....and here it is and  thanks to everyone who took their time to add some arty goodness.

This one is on it's way to Nigel..... a little out of sync... but that's life!

I added a little paint, white pen and some blingy flowers...

Decided to add some poppy napkins and a gold crown to make her Queen of Poppies..still plenty of scope for further embellishing..

I'm not sure whether this is step 4 or 5 on this one, but either way, it's coming along nicely.

It should be on the way to Sami tomorrow.

Here is the latest in the pass the painting, I forget which layer we are on now!

I added the red ink through a crafters workshop stencil, some tissue tape, the Eiffel tower stamp and some text stamping. I also added a little black ink to the edges of the numbers to help them stand out. Leanie, this will be in the post to you tomorrow.

Pass the painting 4?

First off, apologies for the delay with this,

I've had to deal with some personal issues that have completely overtaken any artwork.

Thankfully I'm now on the track to recovery,

so normal service is about to be resumed.

When this arrived it spoke to me.

It said "Marie-Antionette said let them eat cake".

But actually she said "Qu’ils mangent de la brioche".

Well she would, wouldn't she, 'cos she was French. 

Although it seems that she never really said it, but why let the facts get in the way?

I'll get this in the post tomorrow and will try to keep up in future.

Received Effies pass the painting this morning from Leanne...so imagine this painting with a thick black painted border added by Leanne (my camera somehow deleted the before picture that I took!!)

and this is what I have done as wanted to add an extra turquoise and vintage layer to the top as I know this is one of Effie's favourite colours .still plenty of space to add further focus layers I think.

...don't know if this is in the right place but here it is...the latest layer, I moved the hearts, sanded some bits added a painty border and the text.

I thought she was too pretty to be a wall flower so I 'Klimt-ed' her up a bit so she stands out at the dance!

Pass the painting..another layer

Noticed this painting belongs initially to Nigel so added some blue drip paint to the top to contrast with the orange and some of my husband's guitar strings.  In reference to Nigels love of Hawkwind I have added some words saying Spirit of the Age. I wanted to add a metal skirt at the bottom! but have left that area free for the further layers to be added. Hoping when my original painting comes back it has birds and lots of further layers etc etc added to it as I am not an elegant, jane austen reading wallflower at all..lol!

I wasn't sure what to add to this, but decided that she looked a little like a wallflower, so I decided to give her a label :)

Here is what I did with the third layer of this painting.

I added the turquoise and purple flames in the background, added some oriental text to the little bird, a dash of washi tape and hand drew the dandelion heads with indian ink.

I sent this off to Leanie yesterday.

This community doesn't really have hard and fast rules, but clear communication so that swaps and projects don't go off track is strongly encouraged :)

Pass the painting 3rd layer

I got Sami's painting last week so decided to have a go adding a third layer today before the school hols start and I cant do anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have added pictures under the clear discs , some pink ink dribbles and some stamping in the corner.....all ready to pass on to Jean soon for the fourth layer....

Pass the painting-2nd layer

I have finished the second layer on this painting (passed to me by Nigel and being sent on to Leanie). I used stamped tissue paper, texture paste, acrylic inks and metal cogs.

Another 2nd layer

Masked off the bottom corner and sprayed with tattered angels inks. Added the purple bird and then doused with water for a shabby look.
