Desert Island CJ Sonja

Third time lucky I hope. I have been trying to get this post sorted on and off over the weekend but I just can't get the videos for my tracks to embed properly so I have dropped that idea I'm afraid.

When I got Sarah's fab CJ I had a "I wish I had done that moment" with the songs and lyrics etc but hey ho mines done and away. That was what lead to the fighting with the videos.

My CJ is inspired by Lost ( I know how original ) but I do like the show so away I went. The cover is a lovely blue pearlescent paint paper I got in a mixed media kit from 3D Jean. I have hoarded it for that perfect project which has now arrived. I also used some pages from an almanac I have and some washi tape from Making Memories.

The inside cover has a glassine envelope with my cards detailing why I chose the tracks in the CJ. I have to admit to struggling with 10 as well. It could have been a solely Big Country or The Killers CJ to be honest. Each page is an envelope on a chipboard page and you can flip it and use it however you want. I stuck my journaling card down on the back of my completed page. There is a sign in spot on the CD cover inside the CJ.

For my page I chose the track "Come Back To Me" by Big Country. They are my favourite band and I have lost count of how many times I have seen them over the years. It doesn't matter if it's big guitars or acoustic sets they are just amazing. It was so sad what happened to Stuart Adamson the lead singer and this track always reminds me of him. Bands and albums come and go but I never tire of Big Country and there is always one of their albums in the car or on my playlist.

I started with some Dylusions spray inks and followed Dy's ghosting technique. I then stamped and also embossed a set of Tim Holtz stamps I borrowed from Kirsti. The heart was embossed with American Crafts Charcoal embossing powder and then I used Liquitex ink inside it. My favourite inks just now.
The Stampotique girl is coloured with Distress Markers and the male image is Tom Hardy who is my celebrity crush of late mmmm.

More Lost references for the back cover and I'm completed. I'm looking forward to seeing what my CJ looks like when it arrives home next year.

  1. I have it, and it's fab.

Now I just have to pick a track to work on. I've narrowed it down to 3 so far.

  2. Ah I swear the world is conspiring to persuade me to give Lost another try - everyone seems to be talking about it recently, I guess because of the rise of Netflix.... I watched the first season when it was first broadcast (and loved it!) but then for some reason never saw any more, I think I was super busy when season 2 started, recorded the first 3 or 4 episodes, then went on hols, and realised I'd never catch up.

But anyway, enough about my TV watching habits, your CJ looks great! and I look forward to (eventually) meeting it :) I am the last to get this one, so I wonder what track I will be left with? :D
