Mail Art - Vicki

I received this scrummy postcard from vicki for the mail art trail. My rubbish scan does not do it justice at all - the colours are just confectionary cute. Thank you Vicki. It also has some great stamps on the back - I need the one that  says "THIS IS ART because I say so"!

Pairs Journal - Palma & Vicki

I am so very very behind working in Palma's fabulous journal.  I will admit to initially feeling a little intimidated, but then then it got put to one side as life, loft conversions and recently illness have taken over the Abrathat household.

I promise to be better Palma!

So Palma's journal now has a few pages looking like this....

...and a couple of pages I've played with.

adding some alpha stickers (I just loved the background and wanted to compliment it)

and an almost complete paint out of Palma's original background.  I didn't intend to cover so much but once my fingers got painting they kinda took on a life of their own.

In all honesty there are quite a few of Palma's pages I just didn't want to touch this time round as they are just so beautiful.

Vicki & Palma Pairs Journal

Finally I've got myself into gear and made a journal. Had a massive fight with the sewing machine along the way, and I'm not convinced I've won yet. It may have all fallen apart by the time it reaches Italy.  In the meantime, here's a few snaps of the cover and some backgrounds I've started off.

Fingers crossed it reaches you in one piece Palma!
Have fun with it.

MAIL ART RECEIVED FROM VICKI AND BOO HISS TO POSTIE

Oh finally I've managed to photograph the gorgeous mail art received from Vicki - now before you see it I have a feeling that Royal Mail have managed to get in on the arting action by adding a very deliberate and large letter P with a circle around it on the mail art, they only needed to ask if they wanted to get in on the action I tell you!  But I suppose this is the joy of it being open to the elements as it travels through the system isn't it!

I adore the quote on the front and the general feel of the card, simply fabulous - thank you Vicki!

Now whose not joined in the mail art front for a bit - come on keep it going I made 36 mail art cards in the summer and I need to start using some of them up!

Mail Art Arrival from Vicki

This wonderful Mail Art arrived in my post this morning, I love it and all the techniques Vicki has used.
The colours match my lounge perfectly and it is displayed on my mantelpiece in all its glory.
Thanks so much Vicki.

Introducing….Vicki

hey all, I’m Vicki, known in some circles as biskit.
I have a blog, two cats, two kids and a husband. We all live in East Riding.
I have discovered pink and a love for it, but do not suggest I wear it, I can only handle pink paint or ink.
I started out life studying art, then “got a proper job”. Then left the “proper job” and became a Mum. The youngest child in the house is now at school (hurrah!) and I am not a housewife, by any stretch of the imagination.  Didn’t want get “a proper job” again, so played the “if you could do anything?” game about 18 months ago and just under 12 months ago set up my own emporium “a sprinkle of imagination”, the realisation of a childhood dream. …or just an excuse to buy LOTS of  art & craft materials…hmmmm.
Along the way I have dabbled in most art forms but I love to draw, paint (mainly my hair, nose and jeans), make jewellery, dabble in silver art clay, scrapbook and keep art journals. Mostly I want more time to be creative.
So here are a few of my more recent  pieces to share with you.
